Asking questions changes the world. Specialist promoters have had this experience frequently for international cooperation in workshops, consultations and events. In their work with international partnership groups, the promoters have found that thought-provoking impulses for new perspectives can best be generated by reflecting one’s own work.
The newly published catalogue of questions of the International Cooperation Expert Forum therefore deals with questions about the quality of international cooperation. How can it be prevented that certain behaviours are reproduced in partnerships? Or: "How do we manage to change perspectives in order to actually reach the much-vaunted eye level with our international colleagues? We want to ask these questions together with our colleagues in the South," says Vera Dwors, Federal Coordinator of the International Cooperation Expert Forum and member of the Engagement Global feedback group. The list of questions was developed within the framework of the International Cooperation Expert Forum of the One World Networks working group in Germany. Seven German federal states provided promoters who deal with the topic of international partnerships. These partnerships concern German associations that work with actors and organisations in the Global South.
With the questions collected in this questionnaire, the promoters want to shed light on the many different aspects of international North-South and South-North cooperation and encourage reflection. This collection is not exhaustive, but is to be understood as "work in progress".
Following the German-English edition, the handbook is now also available in Spanish and French.
