Réseau AGYI Bénin held this year's Open Day on 27 October 2020 and officially presented its offered services. These services include working materials for volunteering and youth exchanges, such as a manual for volunteer training and support.
Over the two years of its existence, Réseau AGYI Bénin, consisting now of about 50 member organisations, has been able to set important impulses. It disposes over a digital platform where organisations can network and share their experiences in the field of volunteering and youth work and it has a pool of trainers who coach and train volunteers and civil society organisations.
The presentation of the services offered by Réseau AGYI Bénin was also attended by the Director General of the Benin Office for Youth Voluntary Services (OBSVJ), Jean Lawson, and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Benin, Achim Tröster.
In his opening speech, Mr Tröster highlighted the key achievements of the network. These include capacity building in the field of voluntary work and pedagogy, the development of international partnerships, especially between Beninese and German organisations in the field of youth exchanges, networking and communication opportunities, as well as employment opportunities for young people and alumni.
To complement the presentation day, the network also organised two virtual workshops: one on the topic of volunteering and another as a space for exchange and communication for the strategic partners of the network.
