All over the world young people are raising their voices. On streets, schoolyards and in parliaments a new generation demands their right to a climate-friendly and sustainable world.
This year, the conference "Countdown 2030, 2063 and beyond: Our Common Future", which will take place in Cologne from 2 to 6 December 2019, invites young people from South-North projects to join the movement and formulate their visions for sustainable development.
The conference aims to bring together young people who are already active in international exchange. In particular, all members of South-North school partnerships and all South volunteers currently in Germany are invited. But all others who want to help shape the future are also welcome.
The conference programme will be organised entirely by young people in Benin, Burkina Faso, Germany, Cameroon, Malawi and South Africa. These teams have determined the topics and formats which 150 young people will discuss in Cologne for five days.
The three thematic blocks are:
- Exploring and questioning the agendas 2030 and 2063: Youth voices on our common future
- Measures at individual level: Focus on sustainable consumption (Goal 12)
- Looking at the big picture: how social innovations can change societies in the sense of the Agenda
From Tuesday, 17 September 2019 until Friday, 15 November 2019, interested school classes, groups or individuals can register for the conference. The entire event is free of charge for participants, including stay, travel to and from Germany. Pupils and project groups are supported in their school exemption.
