Enquiries regarding the African- German Youth Initiative have risen sharply. 99 enquiries have been received in the year of foundation of AGYI in 2016 and in 2017 already 511 enquiries have been registered. On average, there were 42 AGYI-related enquiries per month. The increase of 94 enquiries in November 2017 was most likely connected to the AGYI study tour of the African implementation organizations and their government representatives from Benin, South Africa and Tanzania visiting Bonn and Berlin.
In December 2017, there were also many enquiries from individuals from various sub-Saharan African countries who were interested in studying or volunteering in Germany. Organizations from Togo, Ghana and Kenya wanted to know in which way they can cooperate with AGYI. The Kenyan organization was particularly interested in becoming a weltwärts host organization. Frequently asked questions referred to financing opportunities for Africa-related events. All questions were answered individually by the information desk.
