The checklist “Diversity in Youth Exchange” of the German–Polish Youth Association (Deutsch-Polnisches Jugendwerk) is for organisers and team members of international youth encounters. Its aim is to consider various aspects of diversity during the planning, organisation and design of the programme, and in the choice of methods and the evaluation of youth encounters. The listed aspects provide orientation for the organisation of thematically diverse projects in which young people with different interests participate, regardless of their social or cultural background, skin colour, language skills or school grades, etc. The projects are designed to help young people with different backgrounds and interests to find their way around the programme. The checklist supports the realisation of various ideas and projects which contribute to an attitude of openness and understanding for differences among young people, break with stereotypes and prejudices and help to counteract discrimination.
The checklist is available in German, English, French, Polish and Ukrainian from the German–Polish Youth Office. The English and French translation was sponsored by Engagement Global with funds from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
