Jakob Kluge: Right now we are facing a major paradox: On the one hand, globalisation is on the rise and people are becoming increasingly connected, while, at the same time, in many parts of the world resentment is growing. Getting to know other cultures in depth, by experiencing them personally, can go a long way to getting rid of this resentment and raise awareness of the increasingly complex relationships in our globalised world.
I see intercultural encounters, by which I mean spending time, living and working with people from different countries, as enriching experiences in themselves, and ones that are becoming ever more important in today's world.
